Professional Association
The Diverse Coat Society® (DCS) was founded in July 2022 by Dr. Geraldine Q. Young, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CDCES, FAANP.
The DCS is a society of diverse educators and healthcare professionals coming together to provide conversations, activities, and support for interprofessional goals leading to educational equity, health equity, and general public safety. Intersectionality and Black Coat Conversations (BCC) are at the core of the group’s purpose. The goal of the society is to spread our purpose through visibility and professional association. The logo is symbolic of our interprofessional roles as we wear different coats in society that intersect to reach educational and health equity. In this professional association, you have the option to wear whatever color coat you want. Historically, the color is white. The foundational color of this group is black. However, we focus on all shades of the skin, which is a representation of all.

The DCS serves as a professional advisory group for the J R Young Health Equity Institute and beyond.
